You’re welcome here

It’s okay to arrive not knowing anyone

This 12-month community project brings people together through relaxed, free events in different locations. Each gathering is designed to make it easier to take part, meet people and discover what is happening in your area. Trained facilitators help create a friendly, supportive space.

You can come on your own, with family, or alongside someone you know. Look out for the project team when you arrive — we don’t know anyone either.

Events bring local people, groups and businesses together around a shared activity.

A different kind of get-together

From food and music to art and community days, each event has its own feel. The aim is to make a welcoming space where people can connect at their own pace.

  1. 23 March 2025 · Longridge

    Community day

    A welcoming day with local people and businesses, including a free community roast dinner.

  2. 26 April 2025 · Stoke-on-Trent

    Music afternoon

    An afternoon of live music with local bands and musicians at The Quarter @ The Potbank.

  3. 25 May 2025 · Dewsbury

    Arts day

    Painting and crafts with a local artist, creating an easy-going space to meet and make something together.

  4. 21 June 2025 · Blackpool

    Day out

    A community day out, followed by a separate car event listed for 5 July.

  5. Later in 2025

    More community meet-ups

    The programme also included Somerset, Preston, Loughborough, Stockport, Nottingham and further monthly dates.
