The Semicolon Fest

In 2025, SAP;UK hosted its first suicide prevention festival: a welcoming gathering shaped by the semicolon’s messages of hope, resilience and staying alive.

About the festival

A safe space to celebrate life together

The Semicolon Fest was created as a large, welcoming safe space for people who may have felt isolated by suicidal thoughts or ideation. It brought people together around the semicolon tattoo project and its messages.

For many people, the semicolon is a symbol of hope and survival. Each person may wear it for a different reason, and every story is personal.

The idea

Fun, connection and safety

Festivals can be joyful gatherings, but they can also feel difficult to access. SAP;UK wanted to create a fun, supportive space where people could come together and feel welcome.

02

The message

Every semicolon has a story

The festival centred the semicolon as a personal symbol of hope, continuing through difficult moments and being part of a community.

The organising team

Made possible together

The festival was organised by Dan, Jordeey, Jamie, Kevin and Eleese.
